WHAT IS KUNG FU?
In its original Chinese meaning, Kung Fu is not about fighting—it is about achieving mastery through discipline, hard work, and dedicated practice. It represents the journey of self-improvement, both physically and mentally, that comes from consistent work over time.
In English, Kung Fu has often been used to mean “martial arts,” but the deeper, more accurate term is Wu Shu (武术), which translates to “military art.”

Wushu, meaning “martial art” in Chinese, has evolved into two distinct branches: traditional Wushu and contemporary Wushu. Traditional Wushu preserves the centuries-old combat systems, emphasizing practical self-defense, philosophy, and cultural heritage. Contemporary Wushu, developed in modern times, focuses on athletic performance—highlighting speed, power, flexibility, and artistic expression through standardized forms often seen in competition.
At Precision Strike Kung Fu, we embrace the richness of both traditions. Our training blends the depth of traditional Wushu styles with the precision and athleticism of contemporary practice, offering students a martial arts education that honors the past while embracing the present.
